A Year-Round Guide to Locally Grown Blooms on the Central Coast

Planning a wedding or event in Carmel, Big Sur, Monterey, or Pebble Beach? One of the biggest floral advantages in this region is our year-round access to premium, locally grown flowers. Thanks to our temperate climate and the abundance of farms in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties, couples getting married in any season have access to world-class blooms grown just down the road.

Why Choose Locally Grown Flowers?

Sourcing locally and in-season isn’t just a feel-good decision—it’s how we're able to work with flowers at their best and gain access to unique blooms that rarely make it to market. With over 80% of U.S. floral product imported from overseas, here’s why we choose to primarily source from our incredible network of Central Coast fine flower farms:

Quality: Blooms are harvested at their peak and delivered within hours—not days—so they look better and hold up beautifully in photos.

Sustainability: Choosing local means a much smaller environmental footprint and support for our region's family-run farms.

Uniqueness: Local growers cultivate delicate, heirloom, or specialty varieties you often won’t find through conventional floral channels.

Tips for Designing with Seasonal Flowers

1. Embrace your season, not your flower list. Let what grows naturally be your guide.

2. Ask about substitutions. Love peonies, but your wedding is in October? We can recommend in-season blooms that match your style.

3. Embrace texture + movement. Locally grown flowers are often more delicate and expressive than imported varieties.

4. Trust your region. The Central Coast grows some of the most sought-after wedding flowers in the world.

Here’s a breakdown of when the key flowers are in season—so you can plan around the best the Central Coast has to offer:
